Week 2 Blogging Exercise!

Welcome fellow classmates and friends to Week 2 in our Creating Wellness Class.  This weeks assignment had us listening to and participating in a relaxation exercise!

In describing the experience, may I first say that I truly opened my mind and allowed the suggestions given to flow in.  I did get myself comfortable in my favorite chair and began listening to the soothing voice.  I was able to start relaxing and breathing slowly in and out.  Throughout the exercise I was able to follow and experience the feel of the blood flow to my arms/hands and feel the warmth and heaviness.

I think by keeping my mind open to truly trying the relaxation exercise it helped to envision and feel the suggestions as they were given.  As the exercise indicated, I actually was so relaxed that I didn't want to lift my arms, and frankly didn't even try!  At the end I did find myself relaxed, more energized and ready to post my thoughts to my blog.

I found it to be a positive experience.   Sandy

  1. Hi Bicksterworld,
I really like your description of the experience that you felt because my was similar in essence. I really felt the stress that had built up from my journey throughout the week flow out of my body and this inner calm was exposed. I will definately continue these breathing and mind techniques that I learned from this units exercise.

I really enjoyed this experience it was quite the eye opener.

  2. The relaxation was great wasn't it? I had no idea what to expect so I just dove right in. i have been trying to blog for year, but have failed at trying to relax and be open. With me embarking on a wellness, holistic and culinary journey, these are the most amazing practices. You have a great family, I'm an animal lover as well and I embrace it immensely! Hopefully we can teach each other a few things in this class. Nice to meet you.

  3. I truely enjoyed this relaxation session. To know that we (as parents), have the ability to completely relax ourselves. That it only takes a little bit of time, and we can feel fully recharged. Fully in charge of our bodies and our minds. I can not wait to see what next week brings.

I love the pictures of the kids (2 of my own) and dogs (3 of my own). I am wondering if I can introduce my daughter to some relaxation meditation. Put it on her ipod, for her to go to sleep. Maybe she'll do less talking, walking, and have better dreams in her sleep? What do you think? Might be worth a try.
